The site which was started eight years ago and later acquired by Google in 2006 for 1.65 billion has released a video – YouTube’s ready to select a winner. Over the years users have uploaded more than 70 hours of video every minute and now the time has come to review everything that has been uploaded on the site in order to select the winner, expressed Tim Liston who is the competition director.

More than 30,000 technicians are working on narrowing down the list. To judge the videos, YouTube has chosen a set of distinguished film critics, celebrities and also some prolific commentators on the site.

So don’t forget to tune in to Day 1 of the live ceremony from 9 a.m. PT, April 1, when YouTube will begin announcing the “Best Video” nominees. This announcement will resume for 12 hours every day for the next two years. And YouTube will be back in 2023 with the winning video and nothing else, added YouTube CEO Salar Kamangar.
