YouTube Comedy Hunt Looks For India’s Next Big YouTube Comedy Star #FindingFunny

YouTube India has launched Quikr Comedy Hunt to find the next big YouTube Comedy Star, in association with India's top YouTube comedians like AIB, Kanan Gill and more

YouTube is what it is for the scores of YouTubers who bring in their dash of originality to the world’s most popular video sharing network by Google. Be it funny gigs or how-to cook/paint/DIY, YouTube is a video haven for people looking for entertainment or learning. Now YouTube India is looking to expand its base of funny YouTubers with the YouTube Comedy Hunt – a contest to find India’s next big comedy star on YouTube.

If you’re funny and have always wanted to try your hand at creating online videos, this is your chance. And, there are prizes to be won too!

Set up your own YouTube channel, shoot your entry video which should be under 3 minutes, upload your entry video on to your YouTube channel, with the title in this format: “Comedy Hunt – entry video title”. Submit your video at the Comedy Hunt YouTube channel after reading through the Terms & Conditions. You can participate as an individual or as a team.

Entry videos can be in any language. However, subtitles must be added to videos that are in languages other than English or Hindi. Last date for entries is 26th July 2015.

Post submission, keep an eye on the social media platforms of Comedy Hunt. The Comedy Hunt has the best of mentors – the funny guys from All India Bakchod (Tanmay Bhat, Gursimran Khamba, Rohan Joshi, Ashish Shakya), the guys from Pretentious Movie Reviews (Kanan Gill, Biswa Kalyan Rath), Aditi Mittal, SNG Comedy, East India Company, Hoezaay and more.

The mentors will go through all submissions and pick up the top contestants from them, a weekly challenge will be set for these entries during the Challenge Phase. After the challenges are complete, the top 5 contestants will get a chance to be on stage with the mentors and one will emerge as the winner.

A six-minute promo video is doing the rounds on YouTube. The mentors are brainstorming in a conference room when they find that there is a lack of fresh comedy content on YouTube. The funny guys were bored of the same old content and poked each other too.

The Comedy Hunt Facebook and Twitter pages are busy #FindingFunny. Each of the comedians are also sharing about the hunt on their social media pages. Google Hangouts are being hosted with the various YouTube stars where one can ask questions and have their queries cleared.

It looks like a win-win for all. While YouTube gains in popularity for its comedy genre and grows more user channels, the country finds one more fresh comedian.
