Twitter Rolling Out New User Profile Pages On The Web. More Like Facebook?

Twitter is rolling out a brand new user profile redesign from today, as it looks to help users show who they really are. The design now relates to Facebook.

Twitter New Design

Networks don’t want to be niche network anymore, especially the ones which have investors sitting on their head. Twitter the 140 character network, which was once about simple pure conversations, has gradually evolved into a ‘me too’ social network. The latest profile page re-design is the last nail in the coffin. With this roll out it is now as good as Facebook.

Don’t trust me check the below snapshot of the profile page that Twitter updated on its blog.

Twitter New Design

Twitter says: “Moment by moment, your Twitter profile shows the world who you are. Starting today, it will be even easier (and, we think, more fun) to express yourself through a new and improved web profile.”

The new feature that is going to be rolled out in the coming weeks for all of its users has some interesting features to look for such as – Best tweets (Tweets that have received more engagement), Pinned tweet (Pin tweets that you want to show off) and Filtered tweets (choose which timeline to view when checking out other profiles).

The latest announcement from Twitter comes after it recently revealed that it is going to roll out 15 new varieties of advertisement options to attract game developing companies, eCommerce companies and raise its ad revenues.

Recently we also shared a story where we curated nine experiments Twitter is working on to simplify its network and thereby get more reach. Twitter has been facing problems of its declining reach and the latest design change is a move in the same direction to gain more users.

But the bigger question is if Twitter is going to turn into another Facebook, will you still be using the network?
