Google Plus has undergone a sea of changes as it completes two years today. Almost always compared with Facebook, the more popular social network the world over, one cannot deny the beautiful user interface and social features provided by Google Plus. As per this Business Insider article, Google Plus is outpacing Twitter now, and in India we are seeing bigger numbers with every strategic move by Google to get more Indians to use the network, be it Hangouts with the country’s ministers or with our beloved cricketers and actors. All these efforts have paid off in creating large communities of Indians – otherwise glued to Facebook – who have joined the discussions on politics, cricket and movies largely. And, businesses are joining in the conversations too.
Here, we have a list of the top 20 business pages in India based on the number of followers or circlers as they are called. The list has been prepared with the help of CircleCount, a tool that helps you better understand Google+. It has been a tedious task to hunt down the toppers in India amongst all the business pages, as most haven’t updated their location in the ‘About’ page. Also, we have engagement numbers where CircleCount gives average numbers of the last 50 posts which are at most 4 weeks old.

India’s most widely read English newspaper, TOI just missed the list with 171K odd circlers. A cursory glance at the toppers and we know we are a nation obsessed with Bollywood, cricket and politics. This list is dominated by content producers who are also posting the same content on their Facebook pages as well! A trend which was seen last year too.
