Social media, specially the analytics market, is generating a lot of interest and the latest acquisition from digital services network, To The New is one evidence on the same. According to IDR, To The New has acquired Singapore based social media analytics firm, ThoughtBuzz.
The company which calls itself “digital and beyond” will be beefing up its existing digital network that already has names like Ignitee Digital and Tangerine Digital. The latest acquisition will allow the company to integrate social media analytics with its digital services portfolio giving the consumer much required rational ROI.
Additionally, the deal also means that the co-founders of the 2009 founded startup - Anshul Jain, CTO and Founder and Ashok Patro, Co-Founder and COO will be joining the management team at To The New. Sharing his thoughts on the new chapter Ashok stated that,
“With To The New’s expertise in digital services and ThoughtBuzz’s analytical capability, we are confident that we will be able to provide innovative and smart digital solutions to meet end- to- end needs of the customers and clients.”
The move makes complete business sense for To The New since the social and digital market is now demanding much better and quantifiable analytics. Recently Mindshare, the global media and marketing services company had partnered with Meltwater, a leading provider of social media monitoring solutions, to specialize its social media offerings to clients.
The partnership which is in line with its strategic media planning process will support Mindshare on social listening, data consolidation and reporting. The technology used will draw deeper consumer insights based on real-time feedback via online platforms.
On the same lines Mumbai-based digital and social media agency SocioSquare, a division of AKG Technologies Inc., had raised $325,000 (Rs 2.2 crore) in angel funding from Dr. David Bell, a Wharton School professor and seed investor, along with a few unnamed angel investors from the US, the UK and Turkey. Primarily the agency plans to use the raised money for launching new social advertising products. One of the products sits on top of Facebook’s ads API. The product is said to be rolling out by next month and by the year end it will be marketed to the global audience.
With its second acquisition in the year after Techsailor, another Singapore based digital marketing agency, To The New has committed its focus into India and South East Asia. The company had also announced the intent to invest USD 13 million in its Indian operations over the next three years and further committed to invest USD 10 million to grow its footprint in the South East Asian region.
