The Marussia F1 Team is on a hunt for a “Social Media Speedster” for the Indian Grand Prix which starts from 26th and ends on 28th October 2012. The last date of submission of entries for this exclusive opportunity ends by 10th October, 2012.
2012 Formula One season is the first outing for The Marussia F1 Team, a subsidiary of Marussia Motors based out in Banbury in the UK. The season hasn’t been that encouraging so far for Timo Glock and Charles Pic since the pole position has been guarded by the titans Alonso, Vettel, etc. However, the team has come up with an exciting way to connect with fans when they come to Indian Grand Prix in the latter half of October.
Marussia F1 has joined hands with Monster India and is looking for a “Social Media Speedster”. So if you follow the madness every weekend and debate about your team’s performance on social networks then this could be your opportunity.
How to participate in “Social Media Speedster”?
To participate in the contest simply log into the Facebook page of Monster India and click on the Social Media Speedster Facebook app. The entire process has two steps -1) As a participant you would need to explain why you are the perfect fan of Marussia F1 team within 140 characters and 2) You would also have to submit an original video or a blog or an original essay to describe your views on the same to be gauged on presentation, speaking or writing skills. In addition to this, sharing and spreading word about it on Facebook and Twitter will earn you points and take you one step closer to the final round.
Once this step is over, 10 participants would be selected for a telephonic/face to face round of interview. Out of the ten, one lucky participant would be the chosen “Social Media Speedster”. A free grandstand ticket to the Indian Grand Prix 2012 and a once in a lifetime opportunity to access the team garage and off-track events will be some of the incentives for the winner.
The role would involve covering and capturing various Marussia F1 off track events and spreading on the social networks to keep fans abreast of the latest developments. So in other words, an extended paid weekend of a memorable and rare experience while donning the hat of a social media ambassador for Marussia F1. Do read the “How to Enter” and “T&C” page carefully before rushing your entry.
Considering it to be a first season for Marussia F1, this move makes sense to look for a passionate fan and make him the brand ambassador. The contest is not an easy one since it involves creativity and at some point your social clout would matter too. Good to see the selection process not being judged only on likes or comments. Last year a similar exercise was executed by Redbull India where it was on a hunt for “F1 Official Blogger” for a month.
Although it is not a unique idea, the execution is smart – joining hands with Monster India that has created a smart app is cool. It is also a smart way for spreading awareness about the new team in a new country. Selecting a diehard fan for spreading the Marussia F1 message to all other fans is quite desirable in today’s social times.
So who all are giving it a try?
