1. Orient Electric gets MS Dhoni to bat for its LED lighting range: Orient Electric, part of the $1.6 billion diversified CK Birla Group, has rolled out an integrated brand campaign for LED lighting. The campaign, featuring Mahendra Singh Dhoni, urges Indian consumers to shift completely from conventional to LED lighting and highlights the ability of Orient Electric’s LED lighting to offer significant savings on electricity bills. With the launch of the campaign, Orient Electric is also expanding its portfolio of LED lighting to reach out to the mass market.

2. Stop ‘faking’, says Askmebazaar: Online marketplace Askmebazaar has launched a communication campaign called ‘Get Real’ which talks about how nightmarish fake products and copies can be with their false promise of being original. 3. Digital publishing platform Quintype raises $3.25M: Bangalore and California-based data-driven publishing startup Quintype Inc has raised $3.25 million (Rs 22 crore) from media entrepreneur- turned early stage investor Raghav Bahl among other unnamed investors, it said on Wednesday.

Mobile ad retargeting startup SilverPush raises $1.2M: Gurgaon-based SilverEdge Technologies Pvt Ltd, which operates a mobile ad retargeting platform under the brand SilverPush, has raised around Rs 8.2 crore ($1.25 million) in a pre-Series A round from M&S Partners, a Japan-based early-stage investor.

5. Shoppers Stop partners with FreeCharge: FreeCharge, a digital platform for recharge and utility payments, has announced an exclusive partnership with fashion retailer Shoppers Stop. As part of this tie-up, Shoppers Stop’s customers will have the option to use their FreeCharge Wallet to make payments at all 74 Shoppers Stop stores across the country as well as on the web store.

6. Harish Sivaramakrishnan joins Snapdeal as VP, design: Snapdeal, an online marketplace, has brought on board Harish Sivaramakrishnan as vice president, design. He will lead the design teams across the company’s portfolio of products and build a design studio across the Delhi and Bengaluru offices.
