One madness we usually witness is when the little master walks into the field, the other madness we recently saw was when he finally decided to hang his boots from all forms of cricket after his 200th test. The third kind of madness is being driven right now by brands with the onset of the 199th test match of the cricketing legend – Sachin Ramesh Tendulkar.
The highest run scorer in both Tests and ODIs, with 15,837 runs in 198 Tests and 18,426 runs in 463 ODIs is playing his second last test match in the Eden Gardens stadium before he retires. Apart from the huge on ground celebrations by the CAB, brands like BCCI and IPL team Mumbai Indians have come forward to join hands in celebrating the last few historic moments of the cricketer.

The Board Of Cricket Control of India, which has more than 532K followers on Twitter, has initiated a cool campaign to strengthen the existing bond between fans and Sachin. BCCI has asked fans of Sachin to tweet a message for the legend along with #ThankYouSachin and BCCI promises to gratify the fan with a personalized picture of Sachin.

The IPL team that the master endorses has also come up with an exciting social and digital campaign. A microsite has been created with the name – #ThankYouSachin and fans are being requested to share their love by thanking the cricketer who has given us 24 years of cricketing joy. Fans have been invited to show their support by tagging #ThankYouSachin in their messages and pictures, which are being featured on the website.
The Facebook page has been updating about the initiative and the latest update has seen a massive response from fans with more than 1K shares and another 16.5K people liking it. On Twitter the brand has been tweeting about the initiative along with frequent updates from day one of the 199th test match.

With all the initiatives being driven by BCCI and Mumbai Indians, #ThankYouSachin had to trend. The hashtag has not only been trending since morning at the top of the India Twitter Trends but has been doing world wide too.

This is just the 199th test match and the madness is only going to double by the time it reaches Mumbai, the home town of Sachin where he will play his last and 200th test match. By then more brands are going to join the cheer.
