Samsung Mobile India Blends Fun With Awareness With #GalaxyS4Riddle

Samsung Mobile India's Twitter contest hashtagged #GalaxyS4Riddle invited participants to decode 9 anagrams correctly to win the Galaxy S4, where the anagrams were S4's features.


Contests on Twitter are getting innovative these days. The most recent one by Samsung Mobile India was experienced yesterday as it trended at the top on Twitter. The contest hashtagged ‘#GalaxyS4Riddle’ invited participants to decode anagrams (words or phrases with rearranged letters) to stand a chance to win the Samsung Galaxy S4. Interestingly, these anagrams formed the newly released Galaxy S4’s features.

As a part of ‘#GalaxyS4Riddle’ contest, Galaxy S4’s features were tweeted by the Samsung Mobile India Twitter handle as anagrams. There were a total of 9 anagrams tweeted at intervals of 30 minutes. Participants had to decode all 9 anagrams and tweet them using the contest hashtag and also follow the handle to be eligible. The one to get all anagrams rightly decoded wins the grand prize, by a system driven random lucky draw.

The contest that was held between 2:30 pm to 7 pm trended at the top on Twitter India trends. The answers were then shared on the brand’s social media channels like Facebook and Twitter. The brand did create a buzz for the contest prior to it being launched, ensuring maximum participation and thereby visibility by way of trending. The Facebook page with a strong fan base of 6.4 million were asked to brush up their Galaxy S4 knowledge, in order to win one. A similar update was also tweeted from its Twitter handle which has more than 40K followers.

Creative, smart and well-executed is how I would put it, especially when it is competing with Apple’s iPhone 5.
