Sahara Force India unveiled the new 2014 F1 car – the VJM07 exclusively on social media yesterday. The car is yet to be officially presented at the Jerez test session in Spain on January 28, 2014. With this Sahara Force India becomes the first Formula One team to unveil its car in this season of Formula One racing.

The VJM07 is a stunner with its new livery that brings a fresh trackside image for the team with the introduction of black alongside the traditional colours of saffron, white and green. Reflecting the evolution of Sahara Force India in its livery, team owner Vijay Mallya sums up the VJM07 better in his own words– “The national colours of India remain an integral part of the car, but the tiger has become a panther!

Interestingly, the VJM07 made its first virtual impressions through Twitter. The morning of yesterday saw Sahara Force India’s Twitter handle @clubforce bracing up its followers for a special surprise, right after tweeting morning greetings. It said it was ready to pounce while sharing an image of a panther. Soon after, while excited fans waited with baited breath, the exclusive first image of VJM07 was shared.

This was followed by tweets sharing informative facts about the VJM07 and the story behind it was explained through a website link. This was followed with tweets by Vijay Mallya and the team’s racer, Nico Hulkenberg. Understandably, this exclusive breaking news via Twitter was appreciated by Twitter India as a best communication practice to be adopted by brands.

Following the tweets with the hashtag #FeelTheForce, one can see a positive response for the VJM07. Twitterati have been showering adjectives like ‘amazing’, ‘dynamic’, ‘gorgeous’, etc. Apart from being a stunner, I hope it also proves lucky for us this season!
