Fashion Focused Social Network Roposo Raise $1Million From Binny Bansal And India Quotient

Roposo, a fashion focused social network, has raised $1 million in a bridge round of funding from its existing investors, including Flipkart’s co-founder Binny Bansal and seed fund India Quotient.

Roposo, a fashion focused social network, has raised $1 million in a bridge round of funding from its existing investors, including Flipkart’s co-founder Binny Bansal and seed fund India Quotient. Gurgaon-based Relevant e-solutions Pvt Ltd, owner of the network, plans to use the capital for product enhancement and category expansion.

Founded by Mayank Bhangadia and Avinash Saxena, Roposo is powered by a recommendation engine focused on fashion.The startup which is known for its initial offering Giveter, a recommendation engine for gifts, is in fact using a similar recommendation engine but the two have separate platforms as it would be compromising both categories, a thought shared by Avinash Saxena in an interview with us.

The company claims that Roposo has over two lakh products across 5,000 brands from more than 150 vendors. All of these products are curated and recommended to each user as per her individual taste. Roposo further claims that it has crossed 100,000 unique monthly visitors.

However, Roposo which was earlier reviewed at LI is curating and showcasing products on recommendations and interests, it isn’t taking care of the commerce part. If users wish to buy, the network takes them to the original store.

It looks like  the startup will launch a mobile app soon, with this fresh round of funding, a future plan the co-founders had shared earlier.
