Olx Daastaan Has Rolled Out Another Heartwarming Film For #TimelessStories

OLX has rolled out its second digital film for the #Daastaan initiative by way of which the online marketplace hopes to reconnect people across borders with their prized possessions

OLX India, one of India’s largest online marketplace for used goods, has rolled out its second film for the #Daastaan initiative. Ahead of the Independence Day of the two nations of India and Pakistan created through a painful Partition, OLX had launched a social media led initiative called #Daastaan. The marketplace wanted to bring back lost memories for families that had crossed borders with very few possessions.

OLX invited people to share stories and memories of belongings that were left behind through a Facebook post. The brand would then try to search for the belongings with the help of the stories and pictures that were hashtagged #TimelessStories. A 3-minute digital film conceptualized by Leo Burnett, told the story of Ram Prakash Khullar who gets reunited with his father’s camera through Daastaan #TimelessStories.

In the second film, a grand old lady named Krishna Ji is reunited with a song her mother played for her in her childhood days in Pakistan.

She is looking for this old LP record since the last 67 years she’s in India; all she remembers is the singer’s name. The record shop owner happens to share her story with a film maker, who then uses OLX Daastaan to share her story. The lady is soon connected with the LP record from a kind person from Pakistan.


The OLX India social media properties are busy engaging users around the initiative. The online marketplace is also giving away vouchers to users who share their story with the hashtag #TimelessStories. The hashtag #Daastaan is being used alternately.

Daastaan #TimelessStories takes this a level higher by making peoples’ possessions an invaluable thing, as it’s tied to their most precious memories.
