The country is all geared for the biggest festival ever. With Diwali round the corner, Indians are getting set to ring in the new – a new television, a new car, new clothes and most importantly, a new coat of paint to freshen up their homes. Rich or poor, all classes of people will try to get their homes painted this Diwali, and paint companies have already started making noise.
The latest one to make some noise is Nerolac Paints. In fact the brand has been inviting people to make noise or rather Dubsmash for them, for a chance to win big this Diwali.
Nerolac Paints has rolled out the #NerolacDubsmash contest on its social media pages, where participants need to showcase their Dubsmash talent with the new Nerolac jingle. The best entries walk away with an iPhone 6S or a One Plus 2.
The jingle is from the Diwali TVC featuring brand ambassador Shah Rukh Khan and a bunch of kids painting a home with Nerolac paints for the upcoming Diwali party, because – “Jab ghar ki raunak badani ho, deewaron ko jab sajana ho, Nerolac…Nerolac…”
The Nerolac Dubsmash contest is being spread through the brand’s social media pages. One has to like/follow Nerolac India on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram and share their Dubsmash entry with the hashtag #NerolacDubsmash. Entries have also been coming in for the week-long contest.

Dubsmashing for Diwali
Nerolac is just one from the many paint companies vying for our attention and a decent mindspace this Diwali. Apparently, the television ads launched during the festive season is being complemented with a Dubsmash campaign on digital this year. For one, it is a cheap alternative to an extensive digital campaign, and secondly, helps create brand buzz with Dubsmash replacing the new social media phenomenon after selfies.
Quite a few brands have resorted to Dubsmash campaigns this year following the massive digital buzz created by Sonakshi Sinha, Alia Bhatt, Salman Khan, Deepika Padukone, Ranveer Singh, Priyanka Chopra, and many more actors who dubsmashed their way into a Bollywood-obsessed country. Kingfisher pioneered the trend with #KFDubsmash where fans could celebrate the Good Times by dubsmashing to the Kingfisher jingle “Oo la la la leo”.
Whether to amplify their social media campaigns or brand jingles, brands could get more creative in their Dubsmash campaigns like Amazon India teaming up with Chutki (Gaurav Ghera) for a special video series for #TryTohKar campaign. Fans loved to Dubsmash to the hilarious conversations between Chutki and shopkeeper.
