You can RSVP your attendance at the event page. Interestingly, the session will be moderated by Cyrus Broacha, the funny man and the most popular TV host and political satirist. Tweets on Twitter are saying that the Hangout will also be joined by Shekhar Kapur and Nikhil Pahwa. You can add your questions with #askmilind and the top 3 most voted questions will have the opportunity to participate in the Google+ Hangout. The tool allows only 10 people at a time.

The event page also shares the need behind the Hangout – “Communications and IT form the backbone as India moves into a more services based economy. The Ministry of Communication and IT is working closely with the industry to bridge the digital divide and ensure connectivity is spread across the country.” And what better way to do this than a Google Plus Hangout.

The social savvy Minister also has an official Facebook page and a verified Twitter page, through which he has been promoting the hangout. The Facebook page with nearly 3K fans has been sharing about the hangout along with other updates from the minister. Though the Twitter page with its 74K+ fans is more conversational. A YouTube video has also been shared which features the minister inviting the netizens to join the Hangout that is being powered by Google, Youth Ki Awaaz and Our Say.

It looks like there will be more Hangouts this year as we’ve seen the common man also participate enthusiastically in these, be it the budget hangout with Union Finance Minister, P Chidambaram or with Dr. C.P. Joshi on making India’s highways safer. The ‘In Conversation with Milind’ Hangout comes at a time when the elections are just around the corner.
