Microsoft had announced two new smartphones – the Lumia 640 and the Lumia 640 XL, at the Mobile World Congress this year. Claiming to be affordable additions to the Microsoft Lumia family, both models are designed to give people the flexibility to do more anywhere, and at any time.
The Lumia 640 and the Lumia 640 XL are equipped with a long-lasting battery, great imaging features, single and Dual SIM for 3G and LTE, and signature Microsoft flagship experiences such as Office, OneNote, Outlook, Skype and Cortana built in. Both devices come with a one-year personal subscription to Office365, enabling the full Office experience on the Lumia; the subscription also includes 1 terabyte of storage on OneDrive.
The smartphones are ideal for those who are looking to increase their productivity and do more on the go, without burning a hole in their pockets.
Targeting these consumers, the company has released an inspiring ad campaign titled ‘For the Doers’. As the name suggests, the smartphones are dedicated to the ‘Doers’ in the world. Armed with the Microsoft Lumia, Doers are given the tools to get things done on the go.
“Doers are the ones who get things done. The ones who act upon their dreams. Doers need a smartphone to help them achieve more. A smartphone with the ability to get things done on the go, “ states the description of the new ad film introducing the smartphones.
The 1.2 minute film features people from all walks of life ‘doing’ things they really wish to do, in the way they want and at a time they want to, using their Nokia 640 and Nokia 640 XL phones. The ad showcases how doers get things done today and don’t wait for tomorrow just like the guy who doesn’t stop going out for his regular jog despite the rain or the lady supporting a cause.
With this ad the brand is focusing on how anyone can be a doer by just doing and not waiting for the right time. Throughout the positive film the brand has demonstrated subtle uses of how doers can achieve better results by using the latest Microsoft Lumia smartphones.
The latest ad from Microsoft also fits with the brand’s positioning of doing great things, just like it focused on building a deeply personal and inspiring experience during the launch of Windows 10 operating system. “Windows will always be for people who do,” the ad had said. “Because people who do are the ones who move the world forward.”
Hopefully in the near future the brand’s promotions on social media would also involve the doers and hope to increase the sales of the smartphones. In a country that is dominated by affordable Android phones, Microsoft is on an uphill way but INR 15,000 for Lumia 640 and INR 15300 for the Lumia 640 XL 4G version comes across as a good deal.
