With the new app LinkedIn users can access their network and perform activities from any Nokia Asha Full Touch and 501 series of devices.  The app is available in six languages (English, Brazilian Portuguese, Bahasa Indonesia, Spanish, Bahasa Malaysia, and Russian) and can be downloaded from the Nokia store.

The app comes with features like personalized stream of industry news and updates from user’s professional community. Accessing Influencer posts, real-time insights from their update stream and features like ‘People You May Know’ have been included in the app.

Introducing the LinkedIn app in Nokia Asha 501 series gives a clear hint of LinkedIn’s strategy of reaching out to all kind of professionals irrespective of their economic funds. Confirming the same, Nishant Rao, Country Manager, LinkedIn India added,

“This is about broadening our reach and availability for every national member out there. It is a part of our mission is to make sure that our professionals everywhere are more productive and successful. It is a natural broadening of our portfolio to make sure that professionals irrespective to their economic funds or location are able to enjoy the richness of LinkedIn for better productivity.”

Asha 501 has been developed by Nokia to take on the low cost Android phones and continue its strong presence in the budget segment in India. The device that inherits the design of the low-end Lumia phones is being sold at a price of Rs. 5,300. By launching an app LinkedIn has created more avenues to give a spike to it’s already 20 million Indian professionals.

But it would have been great if the LinkedIn app was preloaded on the mobile rather than the user downloading it from the store.
