With barely a month left for the Lok Sabha Elections 2014, political parties are adopting all kinds of tricks to defame each other. The latest party to be engulfed in a political controversy is the Aam Aadmi Party led by the Ex CM of Delhi, Arvind Kejriwal. A video posted yesterday showing AAP leader Arvind Kejriwal asking a well known TV news anchor to emphasise certain sections of his interview has gone viral on YouTube. While writing this article, the video had received around 476K views in a day’s time.
The one minute long video is an off-the-record chit-chat between AAP leader Arvind Kejriwal and Aaj Tak journalist Punya Prasun Vajpayee. The chit-chat happened while shooting an interview that was recorded after Kejriwal resigned from the post of Chief Minister of Delhi last month.
Incidentally, the below embedded video where the Ex Delhi CM Kejriwal is seen asking the TV anchor to give emphasis on certain segments of the interview was made public on the day when Kejriwal criticised the media and accused a certain section of being biased against him.
While BJP has rebuked the high morals and principles AAP has been boasting since its formation, AAP has been mum on the entire episode. Though AAP supporters are trying hard to use social media to save the party’s online reputation.
At the same time Twitter is where all the action and online lynching is taking place. The hashtag #AAPWedsAajTak is trending at the top of India Twitter trends since yesterday. Some of the tweets that are making buzz are listed below:

The leaked video raises some serious questions on how AAP is trying to fool the common man and how media is deliberately setting up the pitch for a party. At the same time the timing of the video leak is very interesting – exactly when the BJP vs AAP war has intensified in last few days.
The leaked footage that has come into public domain after a month, is being played by Zee News continuously on its channel today. Meanwhile BJP’s Arun Jaitley has blogged his thoughts on the AAP and Aajtak video expose stating it as “When Punya meets Paap.”
With AAP now going into defense mode, we are sure to see some more fireworks as the 16th Lok Sabha inches closer.
