JustUnfollow, the leading friend management app for Twitter and Instagram – which had recently undergone a complete redesign of its iOS and Android versions – has got interesting news to share. The app has revealed that it has hit 5 million users and has also acquired JustMigrate, a migration service that became popular when Posterous had announced that it was shutting down and a local shopping app, 3Crumbs.
The 5 million milestone is a commendable feet for an app that has been quite popular for smart features like Copy Followers that make the app interesting and more than just checking people who have followed or unfollowed on Twitter, has achieved the feat in 2.5 years. Besides the app has scaled and managed to increase its user base five times in a little more than a year.
Speaking about the growth, Founder Nischal Shetty, who had initially started it as a Twitter management app to help users unfollow their unfollowers, thinks that the startup has merely scratched the surface as there are over a billion social media users.
While the startup has grown from a Twitter management app to a social media management app, it is also stacking up critical hires and strengthening its team. In fact the recent acquisition of JustMigrate and 3Crumbs have been done keeping in this mind.
“As a startup, we were more interested in the talent the acquisition could get us. While we have plans for the products, I am especially keen on the founders joining us to help us grow JustUnfollow better,” added the proud founder while explaining about the acquisition.
Indeed a great news for the startup and the Indian startup community. However, there has been no further disclosure about the financial details about the acquisition.
