Socialbakers H1 2014 report says that Flipkart is the most socially devoted Indian Facebook brand and Tata Docomo is the largest brand on Facebook

Social Bakers, the social media analytics company that monitors brands on social media, has shared its first half 2014 social media performance report for Indian brands. Listed below are six such data points every digital or a social media marketer should be aware of. The data considered for the report is from 1st January to 30th June 2014.

1. Tata Docomo top Facebook brand and National Geographic Channel top Facebook Media

Tata Docomo, the Indian operator remains at the top with 88% local fans, followed by Nokia India. Aircel India which stands at fifth has 98% of local fans on Facebook. National Geographic Channel leads the race in the media section followed by the news channel Aaj Tak. (There seems to be a problem with the data as National Geographic Channel is listed twice, will update as we hear from Social Bakers)

2. Rendezvou Sports World most followed and Maybelline New York most interactive brand on Twitter

Rendezvou Sports World company with a 360-degree approach harnessing the world of sports, has gained a million fans in last six months followed by TrepUp. Maybelline New York with more than 145K interactions is the most interactive brand on Twitter followed by Flipkart.

However what is interesting is that Rendezvou Sports World has a very low activity on Twitter but still gained a million followers in a period of six months. Sounds fishy?

Nevertheless, it is also good to see eCommerce brands like Flipkart, Snapdeal, Myntra getting more interactive on Twitter.

3. Vodafone India most viewed and subscribed brand on YouTube

Vodafone India which added 191K followers on Twitter, leads on YouTube both in terms of number of video views and subscribers. Vodafone India fetched 48M views and gained 29K subscribers in last six months. Nokia India Official followed Vodafone India with 32M views and 25K subscribers.

4. Amway India most engaged brand on Facebook

Amway India  stands at the top with 1.36% engagement rate but at the same time the brand is witnessing a downward trend in monthly engagement rate. At the same time Red Label India which is at the second spot has shown 1109% increase. The average engagement rate is 0.20% and average response rate is 42%.

5. Flipkart, the most socially devoted Facebook brand

Flipkart is the most socially devoted brand on Facebook. The eCommerce giant has a response rate of 87% with a response time of 56 min. Airtel India which is at the second spot has a response rate of 24 min on Facebook and none are closer to it on this benchmark.

6. Nokia India has the most popular post on Facebook

Nokia India has the most popular post which gained 339K total interactions. The content was related to a contest where the brand was giving Lumia 1520. The second most popular post was also from Nokia talking about the Nokia X and the third most popular one was from Colgate India.
