Mahendra Palsule On His Early Days, Love For Computers, Microsoft Certifications And Contributing To The Unleashed Series

Mahendra Palsule editor at Techmeme shares his early child hood days, love for computers from 1984 and his prized experience of co-authoring for the Unleashed series.

Not many would know that Mahendra Palsule is the only editor from Asia for Techmeme - a world-renowned site aggregating tech news. Mahendra, who stays in Pune with his family, is also a good friend of mine and after a bit of cajoling, the geek was ready to share his journey with us in the Conversation video interview series.

In the first part of this video, Mahendra talks about his early childhood days and how he was born with the traits of being a stickler for details. Moving further he talks about how he was introduced to the world of computers by his elder brother back in 1984. After working with the machine, Mahendra knew from his younger days that his future lies with the machine.

Further he shares the journey of how he ended up doing a diploma and how not having a BE posed a big hurdle while he was searching for jobs. However he worked with some interesting companies like Ruksun Software Technologies and later joined Cognizant Technologies. His love and passion towards computers and programming languages gave him the opportunity to be a contributing author for the popular Unleashed series. Later he was also approached by Macmillan to write his own book but it never happened for Mahendra’s existing work commitments.
