Facebook is once again rolling out an updated design seamless to its desktop and mobile. Excited? Read on.
In a latest move today, Facebook, the world’s biggest social media platform is rolling out a new and updated look for News Feed so that desktop and mobile will look the same, making Facebook more consistent and easier to use across platforms. The below snapshot gives you a quick look how the new design would be:
This is how the existing news feed or soon to be an old news feed looks like:
As you see bigger images and photos, a new font is under the wraps in the new design. Facebook adds that the new design changes won’t affect how users surface content to people, nor do they change how stories are ranked in News Feed.
Have you used Google Plus of late? Then you might find some similarity with its one column design which has similar bigger visuals too.
Nevertheless, bigger visuals will gain more traction and bring more engagement on the platform, which has been in question for some time now.
With this new design, Facebook ads will also have bigger visuals but the requirements for creative specs and image aspect ratios for ads have not changed nor would the latest update affect how marketers buy and optimize ads. So if you are a marketer, this update should make you happy since visuals still rule the engagement levels on the social network.
The new design would be rolled out in the coming weeks but if you are the lucky one to have the new design then you have all the bragging rights to show off on your timeline.
Facebook, Twitter, Google Plus all of them have adopted bigger visuals in their design, now waiting for LinkedIn to follow suit
