Faaso’s have always been synonymous with wraps. Every foodie worth his salt is acquainted with their delicious wraps and also the friendly social media stance the brand takes on networks like Facebook and Twitter with some real innovations in the use of social media. In 2010, Faaso’s was also the first brand to come up with a delivery through Twitter mechanism called ‘Tweet to Order’, which was also presented as a case study at TWTRCON, San Francisco.
The brand seems to be only growing in innovation whether on Facebook or Twitter. Recently, I came across an interesting update on the Faaso’s Twitter page with the hashtag #FaasosFoodHousie. A little digging and I was amazed by this exciting game of housie being played at the Faaso’s pages employing both Facebook and Twitter.
It’s easy to participate in the Faaso’s Food Housie game. All you have to do is make an order at Faaso’s and you will receive a Food Housie ticket with the delivery. Each day 3 food items will be announced on the Faaso’s Facebook and Twitter page. If you have one or more items on your ticket that matches with the ones announced, you can either circle or tick mark the items. If there is no match, you need to wait for the next 3 items to be announced. The figure below displays the 3 items announced today on Facebook as well as Twitter:
Each round of Food Housie has upto 16 winners with 5 each for the Faaso’s 5, 3 winners each for the top, middle and bottom lines, and 2 winners for the full house. So, if you win any of these, you will have to click a picture of the ticket and either twitpic it to the Faaso’s Twitter handle or message it to Facebook page. And you could win Faaso’s coupons to be redeemed within a month!
But, remember that prizes get delivered only after tickets are verified. Besides, there is a small but significant feature to this game – in case you win but cannot send a picture of the ticket, you can visit the nearest store for verification, after the brand has noted down your details first.
Food Housie: A marketing first again?
Perhaps yes! I haven’t come across a housie game yet in the food industry. The Faaso’s Food Housie game not only ensures a steady growth in sales but also helps to keep your online community glued to you. In the times when consumers were still learning the ropes of Twitter, the brand created history with its ‘Tweet to order’ initiative. And, when other brands are still trying to crack the long-term engagement equation with their community, Faaso’s has come up with this fresh concept!
Besides, the Faaso’s Food Housie also fascinates me in its usage of both Facebook and Twitter. This would help in bringing in a common communication ground for all of its community spread across the two networks.
So, have you ordered a Faaso’s yet? Do let me know your thoughts on the campaign.
