Eventifier is a site that archives all the data such as pictures, videos, slides, tweets related to a specific event at one place. The information is presented visually in a much better way.

Today information is not a problem but curating it has become a challenge. For example, on Twitter the most common problem that one will come across is Twitteraties failing to control their timeline. Even if you use lists, curating is still not easy but apps like Hootsuite have made life easy.

Similar is the case with events. Today offline events are no more offline but have moved to online with the influx of social media. However, the real challenge is after the events are over and when you want to see the pictures, videos, slides, etc. about the event.

Most of the times, we need to wait so that the event organizers upload pics on Facebook, Videos on Youtube, Slides on SlideShare and so on and so forth. Information is there but it is scattered all over. Seeing this as a pain point, Mohammad Saud Bakhar, Nazim Zeeshan and Jazeel Badur Ferry launched Eventfier.

How does Eventifier work?

Eventifier is a portal that curates information about an event at one place. The portal definitely reminds one about Pinterest in looks but then today every one is having the same design. The portal offers you to ‘Archive My Event’ where you can get your event archived.

So if you want to archive your event, you have to provide your event name, official hashtag and email address. That’s all and after that Eventifier will take care of it and archive your entire event in a very likeable manner. The below screen grab gives you a quick look how events are archived by Eventifier.

Every event has a dedicated page and it provides a complete snapshot of the event. In addition to this, the entire event is archived based on photos, videos, tweets, slides and contributors. Photos have been archived based on the official hashtag used during the event on Twitter.

Similarly, YouTube and Vimeo have been used for finding videos related to the event and Slideshare or Speakerdeck have been used for finding slides. You also get a chance to see the list of all the contributors along with the contribution made by them for the event.

Can it improve?

Eventifier has ventured to solve a real big problem and the 4 month old startup is going places. Till date, the team has archived 160 events and is getting 5-6 requests to archive on a daily basis, as told to YourStory.

However,  Eventifier has some glitches. For example, it allowed me to upload a SlideShare presentation that was not relevant to the LeWeb archived event. Apart from this, it would be great if Eventifier can search data related to events from Facebook too. This would provide more strength to the archive. Besides, it would be cool if Eventifier could be present on mobile platforms too, since the world is moving to smaller screens.

Nevertheless, the startup which witnessed its birth at The Startup Center, Chennai solves a big problem surrounding offline events.

So it’s time to give a try to Eventifier also, along with Storify. I believe that Eventifier has a great future and with analytics coming fast, the future looks brighter. What do you have to say?

Hey Prasant, thanks for covering Eventifier. I would like to take this opportunity to inform you and all the readers that we have now added Facebook API to collate pictures from Facebook.

As for the irrelevant data, Event organizers can claim their event which would enable them to moderate the contents on their Archive page with the admin credentials.

    Thanks for the appreciation!

    Cheers :)
