The mobile app not only lets you lip-synch your favourite songs but also your favourite dialogues from movies to create short videos and share it with your social connections on Facebook, Instagram or Whatsapp.

So, with Dubsmash you can mimic the most popular Bollywood dialogues, just as a few actors like Ranveer Singh, Priyanka Chopra, Sonakshi Sinha, Alia Bhatt and Salman Khan have already done.

This trend of sharing Dubsmash videos has also caught the attention of brands. The new phenomenon serves as a great conversation trigger for amplifying social media campaigns.

1. Kingfisher #KFDubsmash

Kingfisher, The King of Good Times, was the first brand to ride the Dubsmash wave sweeping the country. It had launched India’s first Dubsmash-led campaign where fans could celebrate the Good Times by dubsmashing to the Kingfisher jingle “Oo la la la leo”.

To participate one had to look for ‘United By Good Times’ soundboard on Dubsmash, get the Kingfisher jingle, lip-synch away and share their Dubsmash video Instagram link with the hashtag #KFDubsmash on Twitter.

2. MRF Tyres #MRFRainDay

For a company that has been predicting rains for the last three decades in Mumbai, this year was different. The MRF Rain Day introduced a a self-tweeting smart cloud that answered all doubts about the rain. A Dubsmash challenge was also part of the rain day activities.

To participate, one had to find the MRFRainDay theme song on Dubsmash, create their Dubsmash video and share on Twitter using the hashtag # MRFRainDay. MRF bats autographed by Sachin Tendulkar were up for grabs.

3. Shine.com #LagiGayiVaat

HT Media’s online job search portal, Shine.com has thrown in a Dubsmash contest as part of its ongoing #LagGayiVaat campaign. The job portal is inviting people to share their appraisal stories using Dubsmash videos for a chance to win e-shopping vouchers worth INR 10000 and a feature on its page.

To participate, one has to share their videos on the Shine.com Facebook page or tag on Twitter using the hashtag #LagGayiVaat.

4. Oyo Rooms #Dadsmash

This Father’s Day, branded budget hotels network, Oyo Rooms leveraged Dubsmash for a Father’s Day contest titled #Dadsmash, part of its Father’s Day celebration campaign #SayItWithOyo. Prizes included a sponsored trip to any OYO city, a Go-Pro camera or a special dinner with your dad.

To participate one had to create dubsmash videos dedicated to their dad and share it on Twitter with the hashtag #Dadsmash. The brand got its TVC actors to take up the challenge too.

5. Kurkure #ButterMastiChallenge

Kurkure, the crunchy corn snacks from PepsiCo India, had recently launched a Dubsmash challenge called the #ButterMastiChallenge for the promotions of its new flavour – Butter Masti. One has to repeat a tongue-twister and share it with the hashtag.

Kurkure got its brand ambassadors Parineeti Chopra and Farida Jalal to take up the challenge on Dubsmash. Also, one could choose the Butter Masti Challenge Audio uploaded by @KurkureSnacks official handle on Dubsmash app and mimic Parineeti.
