After the 2014-15 Rail Budget was announced recently, today is the day for the 2014-15 first Union Budget under the present NDA government. Finance Minister Arun Jaitley detailed his budget for 2014-15 today, at a time when the country has been looming under financial crisis with high inflation.

1. Finance minister emphasized on bringing down the inflation and shared that the government wishes to take a macro economic stabilization

2. FDI in several sectors, boost in manufacturing sector, and additional autonomy to banks

3. Boost to tourism – e-visas would be introduced at 9 airports

27. The finance minister did not propose to make any changes in tax rate but made tax exemption limit for senior citizens changed from Rs. 2.5 lakh to Rs. 3.0 lakhs
