It’s the 69th year of Indian Independence. The country is all geared up for the Independence Day celebrations tomorrow on the 15th of August, with quite a few Indian brands also contributing to the celebrations. While ecommerce players are fighting tooth and nail to woo the Indian consumer with a bevy of heavy Independence Day discounts, other brands are engaging people over social media with relevant visuals and conversations around the relevance of independence.
Online travel brand MakeMyTrip has recreated the story of Indian Independence on digital right from 1857 to 1947 on a one page microsite. Apart from tricoloured visuals paying tribute to the freedom fighters, this year being the year of videos, is also seeing Independence Day videos doing the rounds on social media.
