TalentHouse India, the Indian arm of the California-based creative crowdsourcing platform launched in India by Reliance Entertainment, has launched a first-of-its-kind public interest initiative to create ‘My Nation My Anthem’ – the country’s first ever crowdsourced National Anthem. The project is also supported by PVR Cinemas, Hindustan Times, Rising Sun Films and Rampage Motion Pictures.
The creative invites are open to film makers, composers and singers. The winners across the three areas will be mentored by Director Shoojit Sircar of Vicky Donor fame, Co-producer Vicky Donor and CEO of Rampage Motion Pictures Ram Mirchandani and Founder of Rising Sun Films Ronnie Lahiri to create a final film of ‘The National Anthem’ to be showcased at PVR Cinemas before a movie.
Participants who want to produce the film would need to interpret and conceptualize the video for the crowdsourced National Anthem through concept scripts. The National Anthem should innovate upon the concept of unity in diversity, nationality, patriotism, etc. and showcase it in a new light. Singers need to submit a solo singing performance in Hindi, whereas composers can create new renditions for the background score.
Apart from nationwide acclaim and the winners featuring in Hindustan Times, they would also be given due credit in the film. The winning composer would receive Rs. 30,000/- as production cost to recreate the score to fit the theme of the winning film, whereas the winning film maker would receive Rs. 50,000/- as production cost to create the final film for The National Anthem.
The crowdsourced project is being promoted on the Talenthouse social media channels ever since the launch on the 24th of January. The Talenthouse Facebook page with a 85K strong community, has a brand new cover page along with updates inviting fans to be a part of the project of the people, by the people and for the people. The Twitter page has not only been promoting about the project but also communicating about it to eminent personalities from media, sports, films, etc. One can see a bevy of tweets to Pritish Nandy, Shobhaa De, Karan Johar, Yuvraj Singh, Aamir Khan, Shashi Tharoor and many more.
‘My Nation My Anthem’ is a wonderful initiative that truly brings about a sense of unity and participatory creation for an anthem. In addition to enabling brands and the creative industry in the discovery and mentorship of fresh talent, it also helps build Talenthouse as a formidable Indian platform for creative crowdsourcing, especially in the wake of competing platforms like Qyuki, a Shekhar Kapur-A R Rahman initiated crowdsourcing platform.
