Bajaj Allianz General Insurance, one of India’s leading insurance company has announced a Google Plus Hangout session on ‘Demystifying Insurance Claims’, hosted by CEO Tapan Singhel. The Hangout will be held this Saturday – July 5, 2014 between 12PM and 1PM in the Pune office, where a panel of experts will address queries relating to general insurance policy claims.

The experts include Teena Jain Kaushal, Assistant Editor from Money Today, Vijay Kumar, President and CTO Motor at Bajaj Allianz, T.A Ramalingam, CTO at Bajaj Allianz, Sunil Dravid, Advocate and B. According to a 2011 comScore report, the percentage of respondents considering purchasing insurance online in the future has risen from 28% in 2008 to 34% in 2011. With the aim to engage and educate respondents online, Bajaj embarked on a digital route with the help of digital agency WAT Consult. The insurance company has already held four such Google+ Hangouts so far, which has seen an increase in participation and viewership.

This is the Google Plus Hangout held earlier where a panel of experts from the health industry headed by the CEO answers all kinds of health insurance related queries. And all the queries that couldn’t be answered in the Hangout have been displayed along with their answers and available in the Archives for Demystify Insurance Hangouts.

The Hangouts held so far are themed around explaining the finer points of various insurance policies, their benefits, and ways to manage them for steady protection. Each Hangout has been hosted by a panel of experts, who fielded live questions on matters related to insurance and safety, from customers and non-customers alike. Live chats and broadcasts were held simultaneously on the brand’s Twitter and Facebook pages as well, so that users could check in while on the go.

Since the beginning of these Hangouts, participation and viewership has increased by 180 per cent, as per a company press release. Their Twitter reach has crossed 1.3 lakh users and a steady increase in purchasing interest of insurance products from Bajaj has been observed.

For the upcoming Hangout, Twitter and Facebook are being used extensively to drive registrations.
