The social-savvy Anand Mahindra tops again. He has been featured in a compilation of five non-tech CEOs using social media to drive business results by HootSuite, a social media management system for businesses and organizations to collaboratively execute campaigns across multiple social networks, reports Best Media Info.
This is the second time that the Chairman and MD of Mahindra Group has been recognised for his use of social media. Recently, in a list prepared by Steve Tappin, Chief Executive, Xinfu, BBC host, CEO, Guru & Founder, World Of CEOs, Anand Mahindra had ranked third in the list of top 30 CEOs on social media.
While referring to Anand Mahindra as ‘undoubtedly influential in the social space’, the HootSuite article describes his Twitter feed as an engaging mix of business and pleasure, and of broadcasting and engagement, and refers to him as one of the rare CEOs to show his true colors. It further enlightens that,
“Yes, he posts about his company, but he also posts inspirational quotes, he posts about cinema, and he even posts about American politics. He shares his thoughts and passions, and retweets and shares the messages of those who engage with him on those topics. Mahindra is a great example for executives to follow as he is one of the rare CEOs that publicly shows his true colors. Followers love him for it.”
Talking about how his social media activity helps drive business results, the article attributes it to the content he puts out as being valuable and entertaining to people anywhere in the globe. Despite being an Indian company, he has attracted a global audience exposing them to the Mahindra brand and business.
“Being personable helps Mahindra himself, as well as his business, have global appeal.”
The other CEOs in the list are Sir Richard Branson, Founder and Chairman of Virgin, James Caan, CEO & Founder, Hamilton Bradshaw, a private equity firm in the UK, Doug Conant, Chairman of Avon board of directors, and Peter Aceto, CEO of ING Direct.
Talking about having appeal, have a look at Mahindra’s Twitter feed any day and you would know what the CEO is upto. From Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer’s retirement to Janmashtami wishes and expressing his views on the recent Mumbai rape case, the CEO is also busy solving consumer queries.
