Alok Kejriwal preferably known as Alok ‘Rodinhood’ Kejriwal is a well-known ‘Crazy Internet Entrepreneur’ of India. The man needs no introduction to entrepreneurs in India but for those who are yet to know him – He loves to build and sell companies and the last one he did was to Disney. In addition to this, he hearts startups, is an influential blogger and wants to own a Billion dollar company.
At present he is also chasing another dream of accomplishing a feat in the Guinness Book of records for the book – ‘Autobiography of a Yogi’ written by Paramhansa Yogananda. Alok read the book first at the age of 16 as he shares in his blog post that he is been deeply attached with the book.
“I read the ‘Autobiography of a Yogi’ by Paramhansa Yogananda the first time when I was 16 years old. From that day onwards, many parts of the book, the images of the saints inside & fragments of its stories always remained ensconced in my mind. When I read the book again at the age of 42, I felt as if I had just read the book a few weeks ago.”
Alok considers the book to be blessed with unseen powers and wants to create maximum reach for the book so that more and more people are blessed with the magical powers of the book. One might think Alok has become crazy but Alok understands what he is saying and doing,
“What I do know is that this book is blessed with some kind of unseen power. It blesses people who read it (I’m not a starry eyed teenager making a random statement here. It’s based on countless feedback that I have received from people who read the book for the first time). I realized that everyone who has read the book has had an amazing experience. Thats when I figured that the book is ‘magical’ and should be read by as many people as possible.”
To create awareness about this initiative, Alok has created a photo gallery on Pinterest that features people holding the book. Alok thinks that by doing this he is not only applauding the readers but also encouraging more and more people to read the masterpiece. The Pinterest board – “People with Autobiography of a Yogi” has already garnered a healthy response.
The photo gallery has more than 230 images that have been shared by people and is being followed by more than 360 followers. Along with crowdsourcing the photo gallery, Alok wants to take this further and register into the Guinness book of world records too.
“I will approach Guinness Book Of Records, I guess when we touch 1100 photos (I have 300 + now)”
Indeed a novel thought and if you would like to be featured on the Pinterest board then simply mail your photo with the physical or e-book to this email id – alok [at] rodinhood [dot] com. Make sure you send high-resolution photographs (about 1MB) and don’t forget to mention your name and city.
Good luck Alok! And like me if you are wondering whether to read the book or not then Alok has something to share with us.
“The book is magical! Read it to find out yourself. There is no sermon, no religious preaching – it’s an adventurous story!”
