AMD, the name associated with the next generation of computing and graphics solutions has recently launched its AMD Global Vision Challenge. The vision is to spread the word and educate technology enthusiasts about AMD’s ground breaking product, Accelerated Processing Units (APUs) and Vision technology. AMD has adopted the social media way and is trying to engage influential bloggers in the social media space for this initiative which also has amazing goodies to be won by bloggers. AMD’s global challenge will follow in eight countries such as Brazil, Russia, UAE, Turkey, Saudi Arabia, Indonesia, The Republic of Korea and India.
The contest has two very interesting round of selections. The first round will involve five influential social media activists from each country competing with each other. These five social media activists have to educate their social media friends, friends, family, etc. about APUs and Vision Technology. They would be the brand ambassadors of AMD products and have to make people understand about the WHYs and HOWs of the AMD products. Once this is over, then the social media activists have to direct their audience to an AMD website where their audiences would be judged about their knowledge on the AMD APUs. This process will involve audiences to take a quiz and this will also lead to garnering votes.
The second phase will bring all the contestants with maximum votes from all the eight countries on a single platform. The winner with the maximum number of votes amongst the eight countries will be lucky enough to win an all expenses paid trip for 2 to the Austin City Limits Music Festival, in America starting from September 16-18, 2011.
The Austin City Limit Music Festival which is an annual three day American music festival that brings 130 acts together for 70,000 fans daily is a gala event of music. Although the winning goodie is tempting, brands engaging bloggers to spread the word is a common path followed. Brands such as Samsung, Fiat, Dell, etc. are engaging with bloggers on Indiblogger forum. However the selection criteria, innovative idea of brand awareness and the global platform makes the whole initiative of AMD really interesting. The in-country contest for the India chapter has begun from July 28, 2011, so we wish the participants good luck and if you are one of the lucky of the five lucky participants from India then do share your experience.
