Twitter brings forth the perfect 80’s Bollywood love triangle among a husband, wife and a desperate stalker. In the present case the husband is Shashi Tharoor, Minister of State for Human Resource Development, the wife Sunanda Pushkar who is trying to save her husband from the clutches of a desperate stalker who happens to be Pakistani columnist Mehr Tarar (and an ISI agent if Sunanda is to be believed)
The controversy started from yesterday when news revealed that someone had hacked Shashi’s Twitter account and has been tweeting as Mehr Tarar from Shashi Tharoor’s account itself. It was later revealed that the hacker is no one else but Shashi’s wife Sunanda, who disclosed this herself. Obviously the disclosure has opened up the Pandora’s box on Twitter.
Shashi Tharoor and Sunanda Pushkar keywords have been trending at the top of India Twitter Trends since yesterday. According to Topsy, keywords Shashi Tharoor and Sunanda have received more than than 5K tweets and 2.3K tweets respectively in a day’s time.
We have curated 13 witty tweets on what people are tweeting about on the love and stalking drama.
Meanwhile Sunanda and Shashi Tharoor have issued a joint public notice on the entire episode. I have failed to make any sense of the note apart from that the couple is going strong and have asked for privacy.
Nonetheless the matter has come to an end. It started from Twitter and ended on Facebook; everything unfolded and folded on social media. Social media definitely is here to stay!
