If you are an Indian cricket fan then by now you must be on cloud nine. Right-handed batsman Rohit Sharma has created history by becoming the first man on this planet to smash double hundreds in a 50 over one day game.
Earlier in the day Rohit slammed a 264 against Sri Lanka at the Eden Gardens. This is also the highest score by any individual in a one day cricketing match.
Rohit, playing in his first one day after injuring his hand in India’s tour of England, surpassed Virender Sehwag’s 219 to become the highest-scorer in one days. Rohit was dismissed off the final delivery for 264, as India finished on 404/5. His scintillating essay included 33 fours and 9 sixes.
Dropped at a score of four by Thisara Perera, Rohit’s blistering knock was a one man show with shots all over the ground. He reached the 200-run mark off 151 balls. The Lankan’s were able to stop him at the last ball when he was caught by Jayawardene while going for a big one.
